asparagus
storage tip // store like cut flowers in an inch of water. make sure all stems have access to water. keep on the counter top for short term storage. refrigerate for longer term storage with bag over top of vase. keeps 1-2 weeks
6-10 stalks asparagus
1 1/2 tbsp oil
1 tbsp chopped garlic clove or green garlic
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
2 tbsp chopped almonds
In a cast iron pan or skillet saute garlic and almonds in oil over medium heat until lightly brown, about 2 minutes. Add asparagus spears, salt and pepper. Continue cooking over medium heat for another 3-6 minutes, stirring occasionally. Asparagus should be just tender and bright green when done.
